Kaillera

Kaillera was created around 2002 by Christophe Thibault. The main website is www.kaillera.com, where you can download compiled versions of the server and client. Unfortunately the author of Kaillera released no public source code and has not been heard from by "the community" for years.

Kaillera is a client DLL and associated server that enables net-play for game system emulators. Kaillera does not provide the emulator itself, or the ROM files to emulate. It simply plugs into any emulator and maps "player 2" input to another user via UDP network communication. A partial list of emulators that have integrated the Kaillera client DLL is available on the main Kaillera website.

The client and server work together to provide IRC style chat rooms, where users join, chat, and offer to play games. The linked clients emulators are kept synchronized by constant timing messages sent between the server and the clients. Every player actions is sent as a keystroke to the server and then relayed to the other player.

EmuLinker has no official association with Kaillera. It contains no source code from the original project. The original author of Kaillera has made no direct input or contribution to the project so far and is not expected to do so.
